RYT200 Agni Yoga Teacher Training
"I blindly signed up for teacher training at Agni Yoga without actually going to more than one or two classes at the studio. I had done research on other corporate run trainings but when I discussed more in depth with studio owners, the conversation didn't feel personalized. Nathalie lightly mentioned teacher training during my first class and without much hesitation, I signed up. Honestly, If you keep an open mind, teacher training will enhance your practice no matter where you study. However, Agni worked particularly well for me as I was looking to explore more than just my physical practice. I wanted to connect with myself on a spiritual level.
The progress I made from the start of my training both physically and mentally is something I will never regret investing in. Ashley Cummings and Mark Giubarelli's covered the standard 200 level topics like anatomy, cues, chakras, pranayama, adjustments, sanskrit, the yoga sutras, the history and philosophy in an authentic way, sharing their experiences with open hearts. We had incredible guest speakers from Dana Kraft's arm balance workshop, prenatal yoga and marketing lectures to Jennifer Haley's restorative tutorial and Nathalie Fino's Kundalini/doshas workshop. During training, Mark would tape and photograph our practice (let's just say - the footage speaks for itself). " - Hillary
"Since I met Ashley and Mark I could see their passion for yoga shine through them and knew this was an experience I had to go through. They have been able to create a place where not only I absorved lots of useful information from their extensive experience but also learned how to become a unique yoga teacher. They know how to create an atmosphere where work is play and make everyone feel incredibly at home. A part from great teachers they are loving and supporting people that look at the students as individuals and help them reach their potential in their own way, making this training even richer." - Julia
"Agni Yoga Teacher Training changed my life for the better! Ashley Cummings and Mark Giubarelli are very knowledgeable of the topics and their love for yoga shined throughout the course. Ashley's passion for service and attention to detail paired with Mark's creative flows and knowledge of anatomy provided a uniquely enriching experience, with lots of hands on learning. I made great friends, who now feel like family. So excited go out and share what I've learned! " - Oliva
"From the first time I visited Agni, I knew that there was something immensely special about it. I immediately decided to enroll in teacher training with Ashley and will always appreciate that decision and the fact that her program exists. Her knowledge, spirit, and the care with which she guided us through the process to become certified yoga teachers was truly a physically and mentally transformative experience. Through classes with Ashley and the other Agni teachers, we all received a wonderfully comprehensive training and became like a family. Each class was focused and accented each specific teachers specialty. We even had celebrated yogis from around the country come to guest lecture. I can¹t speak more highly about this teacher training and will cherish it forever." - Alexa
"Ashley has helped me find my path with Yoga again! She rejuvenated something that I thought was lost and unattainable. Her traditional methods of teaching mixed with her humor and energy is something that made my YTT training an experience that I will cherish always. Yoga is truly a lifestyle, if you get the opportunity to witness Ashley, you'll see that first hand." - Erin
"I spent 10 blissful weekends at Agni Yoga. While I learned all the elements of yoga instruction, I learned most about aspects of my self and who and how I want to be in this world. A large part of that has to do with how Ashley Cummings leads her trainings, weaving together the spirituality and philosophy of Yoga with the technique of teaching. One of the highlights for me was learning Patanjali's Sutras from Conny Lechner. She made something that can be complex and esoteric, interesting and simple to understand. Ashley has developed a very comprehensive training--we touched on Ayurveda, Chakras, Bandhas, Koshas, in addition to the base of Yoga: Asana and Pranayama. The breadth of the curriculum has made me so excited to delve into each topic. I feel that I have a very strong foundation to further study Yoga and apply it to my daily work and life. I see Yoga as an integral part of health and wellness, and I will bring everything I learned at Agni to my future endeavors in medicine. I also happened to train with a group of amazing people--we are spreading Yoga in all our communities, and still hang-out post-training. I am so grateful to have met all these wonderful people and for this experience! " - S.S
"I am grateful that I took this training at Agni Yoga. I did learn about yogic philosophy, anatomy, meditation, kundalini yoga, ayurveda and more. Taking as many classes as possible was a great opportunity to deepen the practice, and they do come with the training, a great plus. I also enjoyed working with Ashley, our main teacher and guide, the other teachers, and of course, the fellow yoginis. There are papers to write, books to study and sequences to learn, all of it making us more aware what the path of yoga is all about. From my point view yoga is a life- long practice and taking a training such as this, allows one to go deeper into the practice, which is of benefit for oneself and for others as well, a positive experience! "TT was a great opportunity to delve deeper into the science/art/practice that is yoga. I wanted to learn more in order to capably teach something that is so near and dear to my own heart. I absolutely got that at the TT through Ashley at Agni. The reading and lectures were incredibly informative and useful, introducing me to concepts and practices of which I knew little about prior. The only thing I felt there could've been more of was more practical knowledge in order to start teaching the physical practice right away. However, with one of the exams being to be able to teach a full length class by the end of term, I was able to hone teaching skills on my own time. I'd recommend this course to anyone interested in teaching or even deepening their own personal practice. However, anyone short on time or not able to fully commit should not take it until their personal schedule permits because there is a lot of work to do in addition to the lectures." - A. Lo
"Overall, I really enjoyed Teacher Training. It was lovely to meet all the dynamic ladies in our class, who I wouldn't have otherwise met since I tend to keep to myself when at the studio. And it was a great experience to take this TT journey with like-minded but unique ladies!
Yoga is really important to me for what it has done for my mind more than anything else; and it was something I clearly wanted to get a deeper understanding about, so I can capably pass it on to others. As much as I want to teach it, I didn't realize how enormous an art/science/practice yoga truly is. The book list we were assigned was awesome. Each book on the list was so informative and accessible; but I do wish we'd been able to cover more in the lectures that the books started for us.
Jen was my favorite guest lecturer with her vast knowledge and accessibility. She also covered topics I'm personally very interested in. Learning about the kundalini and sutras was also completely new to me, and it was nice to get an intro from knowledgeable resources.
Although there was a lot to learn from the personal projects we each had to do and turn in, it did make the experience a little stressful for me. Because I was trying to work extra in order to fund my experience, it was hard to carve out the appropriate time needed to complete everything in a way I was satisfied with, but then I've always put pressure on myself to be perfect when that shouldn't necessarily be the goal. I just wanted more time to absorb the reading and the practice (while in TT I did less yoga than I normally like to). But I guess that's the natural constraint of time!
Ashley, your unbelievable class is what got me most interested in becoming a yoga teacher, so I do wish we'd gotten a little more time with you. But I know we had a limited window to cover so much! I realize also that what makes you so good is years of experience which only time can impart to us. So I'm eager to continue my journey! Thank you :-) " - Ana
"I am a currently a Yoga instructor and Yoga has been a part of my life for the past decade. Within that time, I was blessed to have practiced under some inspiring instructors. It wasn’t until I began studying under Ashley in her Love led classes, where I decided to step into the role of a teacher. It was time for me to share my experience with yoga in hopes that others could experience a similar life transformation. Ashley inspired me to take the step and move forward to teach. Luck had it that when I enrolled in the training class, Ashley had moved on to build her Agni School of Yoga. I continued on with the original training and after completing the Teacher Training program at another West Hollywood Studio, I felt that there was still more to embrace.
Upon the opening of Agni, I knew that I was to be apart of the Agni Family. And so I decided to venture through additional training with Ashley.
The grand commitment to the teacher training was worth the morning drive from the beach. I am so grateful for my experience. I am so grateful for the beautiful bond that was created with my fellow yoginis. I am so grateful for the excellent group of women from different walks of life that blessed my life. For the love of Life and Self we came together under the Agni arms and I am forever grateful to Ashley and Agni Yoga.

"I must admit that Ashley’s teacher training at Agni Yoga has nothing short of changed my life! In 3 short months I feel healthier, stronger, and more in love with myself than I have been in years! If you are someone who wants to become a Yoga Alliance certified Yoga teacher, if you want to deepen your own personal Yoga practice, or even if you just want to learn more about yourself than you ever thought possible, I highly recommend this enchanting Yoga School. Ashley radiates pure love and warmth, and her positive and motivational energy is incessantly shared with her students. During the teacher training she will pass on her vast wisdom on the business of Yoga, how to safely and effectively guide students through a sequence, and teaches you what it takes to be a successful yoga teacher. Guest teachers are also consistently brought in to lecture on their particular field of mastery. You can expect to study: Asanas, Pranayama, Sanskrit, Bandhas, Chakras, the Sutras of Patanjali, the 8 Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, anatomy, and meditation, just to name a few topics. Agni Yoga’s teacher training curriculum is demanding, the schedule is rigorous, and the reading material is very dense. However the knowledge is simply priceless if you are serious about furthering your Yoga practice and/or wish to pass it on. I am immeasurably grateful to Ashley and everyone at Agni Yoga for providing such a special precinct to cultivate personal growth. " - Mimi
"I honestly do not think there are enough words for me to describe the beautiful experience that I had going through the teacher training with Ashley Cummings. First of all, she is naturally a spiritual guide. Her genuine, warm, raw and radiant energy changed my life. Her vast knowledge on yoga and her view in life are things that everyone should learn about and hold on to for the rest of their lives. She is a part of my family. This experience helped me learn things about myself that I could have not learned otherwise. It calmed my soul and made me realize what really matters in life. It put everything into perspective. Besides thoroughly learning the correct poses and cues in order to become a great instructor, I got a deep understanding of the true meaning of yoga. I am very excited to start teaching and guide others through a beautiful journey of self-realization. I HIGHLY recommend studying with Ashley!!!" - Miruna
"I have been teaching spin at Cycle House, personal training independently and offering Holistic Health Counseling for years…so as I entered teacher training at Agni, I initially thought, “Fun! This will be a great complimentary skill for me to offer my clients.” Guys, it is SO much more than that! I am eternally grateful to Ashley, Brittany, Nathalie, Ralph and the whole Agni family for sharing true yoga with me! It’s not simply an exercise or a fad workout - it is a way of life...a way of thinking, breathing, moving and living. I will always think back on this training experience as a springboard into the rest of my life - there is just no going back! " - Miranda
"I felt compelled to do a Yoga Teacher Training as a means of furthering my own Yoga practice and enhance my skills as a physician. I feel that I was called to the practice of medicine, and in doing so, approach my career as an educator, healer , and hopefully as one that inspires. Yoga has aided me personally in dealing with anxieties and finding proper focus and inner strength. I was elated to find Agni Yoga and Ashley Cummings to continue my personal journey and work towards being a better healer. There are no coincidences, and I felt propelled to join the Teacher Training, without knowing much about Agni Studio, and I am glad I listened to my inner voice. The Yoga Training has been quite thorough, diverse in its curriculum, and has addressed relevant subjects and techniques, that I have already started incorporating in my medical practice and daily life. I would recommend Agni Yoga Studio and certainly Ashley Cummings to anyone that is looking to advance their Yoga practice and become the true Warrior Self that God has created." - Noelle
I embarked on my Agni Yoga Teacher Training journey after almost a decade of yoga practice and another teacher training that I had participated in back in 2010. Even though I knew that being a part of Agni’s training would be incredibly demanding and would require a great commitment from me in every way, I felt compelled to join because I knew intuitively how meaningful and life-changing it would be. I had studied yoga with Ashley for a few years and when I heard that she would be having a teacher training at Agni, I knew that this would be an amazing experience! I have learned and grown so much in this training. After 12 incredible weeks, I feel more connected with my practice, more knowledgeable, more free. I have been inspired by Ashley and the wonderful guest teachers that she has brought in to work with us! Each teacher has shared their wisdom and experience with us and guided us along this magical journey. I recommend this training to anyone who is interested in connecting more deeply and completely with their personal practice of yoga as well as anyone who is inspired to share this immense gift with others!! Agni’s teacher training is an incredible opportunity to invest in yourself so that you can become the best YOU that you can possibly be!! - Sofiya
